Overview

The 8-lesson (16-hour) course is a balanced programme that gives you more time to refine your skills, build confidence, and progress towards the Academy94 standard. Whether you’re a beginner looking to go beyond the basics or an intermediate DJ wanting to sharpen your craft, this pathway gives you the space to explore both technical and creative aspects of DJing in depth.

Each lesson lasts 2 hours, taught one-to-one with our professional tutors who perform weekly at international shows, festivals, and major club nights. Lessons are fully customisable to your level, allowing you to focus on what matters most to you — from beatmatching, cueing, and track structure to effects, looping, hot cues, acapellas, set-building, and multi-deck mixing.

This course does not include accreditation as standard, but Academy94 students receive 50% off the MixVault exam should you choose to be formally certified. Many intermediate DJs find that 8–16 hours is enough to reach the Academy94 standard and successfully pass MixVault.

As a bonus, this course also includes 2 hours of free Premium DJ practice time in our brand-new studio space, giving you the chance to get extra hands-on experience outside of your lessons.

If you’re unsure whether 16 hours is the right commitment for your level, simply complete our free online assessment form on the main course page. And if you’re not interested in accreditation, that’s completely fine too — this course still gives you the tools and confidence to become the best DJ you can be.

Requirements

No Experience Needed: All courses are open to complete beginners as well as experienced DJs. Lessons are tailored to your level and learning speed.

Age Requirement: Students must be 16+. Individuals under 18 years of age require parental/guardian consent.

Commitment: Each lesson lasts 2 hours. To progress effectively, students should commit to attending their chosen block of lessons (4, 8, or 12).

Equipment: All professional DJ equipment and software are provided in the Academy94 studio. Students are encouraged to bring their own USBs, playlists, or music libraries.

Headphones: Students should bring a pair of DJ headphones (we can advise on suitable options if needed).

Accreditation: Students wishing to gain Academy94 certification must complete a MixVault exam. This is included in the Ultimate 12-lesson course and discounted by 50% for Academy94 students on the 4-lesson or 8-lesson courses.

One-on-One Tuition

Lessons are delivered one-on-one at our Leeds studio, offering personalised instruction tailored to your pace and goals. Group lessons are not part of the curriculum, ensuring focused and effective learning.

Flexible Scheduling

The course includes eight two-hour lessons, which can be booked on any day of the week at your convenience. If needed, rescheduling is quick and hassle-free.
