Whether you're looking to integrate hardware like the Pioneer TORAIZ SP-16 sampler and V10 mixer or harness the power of Ableton Live's Performance Mode, this course will teach you how to craft a dynamic, engaging live experience that stands out in any club or festival setting.
Requirements
This course is ideal for those with a strong background in both DJing and music production or anyone who has completed Academy94's advanced programs in these fields.
One-on-One Tuition
Lessons are delivered one-on-one at our Leeds studio, offering personalised instruction tailored to your pace and goals. Group lessons are not part of the curriculum, ensuring focused and effective learning.
Flexible Scheduling
The course includes four two-hour lessons, which can be booked on any day of the week at your convenience. If needed, rescheduling is quick and hassle-free.
What Will I Learn?
- • Ableton Live Performance Mode – Set up and trigger loops, stems, and live instruments in a structured way.
• Sampler Integration – Use the Pioneer SP-16 and other samplers to manipulate beats and textures on the fly.
• Synth & Drum Machine Setup – Incorporate synths, drum machines, and external gear into your set.
• V10 Mixer Techniques – Maximise live routing, effects, and processing to create professional-grade performances.
• Live Arrangement & Improvisation – Move beyond static DJ sets by adding real-time remixing, looping, and live FX control.
• Hybrid DJ & Live Performance Setup – Combine traditional DJing with live elements for a seamless performance flow.
DJ Equipment & Music Studio




Students will use Ableton Live’s Performance Mode for live sequencing and looping, the Pioneer TORAIZ SP-16 for hands-on sample triggering and beat manipulation, and the Pioneer V10 mixer for advanced mixing and FX control. They’ll also integrate synths, drum machines, MIDI controllers, and loop stations to craft dynamic, hybrid performances. By combining live remixing, sound layering, and real-time FX processing, students will develop a fully customised setup for high-energy, professional-level shows.
